ABSTRACT

IIF MIFTAHUL IHSAN. Effect of Temperature on Immature Development of House Fly (Musca domestica). Supervised by RINI HIDAYATI and  UPIK KESUMAWATI HADI.

The house fly (Musca domestica) is an insect that often be found in human habitat and acts as a transmitter of disease. This study is laboratory observatory that aimed to analyze the relationship between temperature and the survival rate and developmental period of immature. The survival rate and developmental period of immature house flies were observed at temperatures of 16 ºC, 27 ºC, 31 ºC, 39 ºC and the environmental temperature as a control temperature. The results of observation showed the lowest immature survival rates occur at 16 ºC and the highest at the environmental temperature (26.53 ºC). The results of data analysis showed the optimum temperature for the immature survival rate is 28 ºC ( = 0.91). The relationship pattern of temperature and survival rate form a quadratic equation. The pattern of temperature changes effect on immature developmental period differ from those on survival rate. The increasing of temperature caused the decreasing of immature developmental period form an exponential equation

ABSTRAK

IIF MIFTAHUL IHSAN. Pengaruh Suhu Udara terhadap Perkembangan Pradewasa Lalat Rumah (Musca domestica). Dibimbing oleh RINI HIDAYATI dan UPIK KESUMAWATI HADI.

             Lalat rumah merupakan serangga yang sering kita jumpai disekitar pemukiman manusia yang dapat berperan sebagai penyebaran penyakit. Pengamatan ini merupakan pengamatan laboratorium yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara suhu udara dan daya tahan hidup dan periode perkembangan pradewasa lalat rumah. Daya tahan hidup dan periode perkembangan pradewasa lalat rumah diamati pada suhu 16 ºC, 27 ºC, 31 ºC, 39 ºC dan suhu lingkungan sebagai suhu kontrol. Hasil pengamatan menunjukan daya tahan hidup pradewasa terendah terjadi pada suhu 16 ºC dan tertinggi pada suhu lingkungan (26.53 ºC). Hasil analisis data menunjukan suhu optimum daya tahan hidup pradewasa adalah 28 ºC ( = 0.91). Pola hubungan antara suhu dan daya tahan hidup membentuk persamaan kuadratik. Pola hubungan pengaruh perubahan suhu terhadap periode perkembangan pradewasa berbeda dengan pola pengaruh suhu terhadap daya tahan hidup. Semakin meningkatnya suhu menyebabkan semakin singkatnya periode perkembangan pradewasa membentuk persamaan eksponensial.
